The final extensions to Nymphenburg Palace were made in 1795 by Karl Theodor of Palatinate-Bavaria, after his marriage to Maria Leopoldine of Austria-Este. The two galleries leading to the side pavilions were each widened on the garden side with three cabinets, based on a design by the court architect Maximilian von Verschaffelt. The middle room in the south group served as an anteroom to the Writing Cabinet (left) and a coffee room (right).
